Wah Luck House

Washington, D.C.

This award-winning, 153-unit, 10-story residential complex serves lower-income elderly Chinese residents in Washington, D.C.

The use of pre-fabricated components slashed the construction costs by 40% of the original estimates and enabled the substructure to be erected in just 22 days after the foundations were completed. This was critical to meet low budgets and constraints of this urban site.

The facility features community areas including a community center for dinners, dancing and special events. The Chinese garden with paths and seating can be viewed from within the lobby and the community center. The facility also has a medical and social aid center, underground parking, community kitchen facility and administrative offices.
